Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme (CMSS) is a merit-based scholarship launched by the Government of Gujarat. Students pursuing a degree in MBBS, Engineering, B. Pharm, Diploma or Paramedical will benefit under this scholarship scheme. The amount of CMSS scholarship awarded to the students is 50% of the tuition fee or ₹1 lakh / ₹5 lakh for Engineering and MBBS respectively; whichever is less. Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme 2023-24 (CMSS)
CMSS, also known as the Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme, was launched on February 4th, 2022 by the government of Gujarat. This scholarship has been launched to assist students who want to pursue higher Education. Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme (CMSS) applies to students whose family income ranges from 2 Lakhs to 4.50 Lakhs. Students who have completed their Std 10th and HSC examinations from any recognized university with 60% marks can benefit from this scholarship. Along with that, this scholarship scheme will help the students to cover up 50% of their tuition fees, and they need not worry about their financial strains. Students from OBC, ST, and SC castes are eligible.

Objectives of CMSS Scholarship Scheme
- Financial assistance: This scheme serves students from backward societies by covering 50% of their tuition fees.
- Right to Education: Education is the sole right of students. Due to their incapability to pay fees, they should be provided with Education. Therefore, this scheme was launched.
- Better future: This scheme seems beneficial to secure the end of the students.
- Merit-based recognition: Students with higher potential should continue achieving their dreams. Therefore, Education is essential. And this is the primary reason behind launching the Scheme.
CMSS Scholarship Registration 2023
- Visit, Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme (CMSS) portal (https://scholarships.gujarat.gov.in).
- Select Fresh Application from Home.
- Click on the registration button.
- Select Department, standard, year of admission, and stream according to you.
- Then enter enrollment/seat number, date of birth, and name (as per mark sheet).
- Provide a valid mobile number, email, percent/percentage, and Aadhaar number
- Verify all the information and click on the Save button.
After successful registration, you will receive a seat number and password on your mobile number for login.
How to apply for CMSS Scholarship?
Only those who meet the eligibility criteria can apply for this scholarship, and the application form can be accessible on the official website. Below are the steps you need to follow when applying for the scholarship.

Visit the official website scholarships.gujarat.gov.in.
- Step 2:–
Click on “Fresh application.”
- Step 3:-
Enter your Seat number and Password to login.
- Step 4:-
Fill out the necessary details such as Group info, Candidate info, Admission info, etc.
- Step 5:-
Click on Group Info, select Category, and enter the Employee Card Number and Date of Issue, then click on Save.
- Step 6:-
Click on candidate information, enter Father/Guru Name, Occupation, Mother’s Name, Mother’s PAN Number, and Annual Family Income.
- Step 7:-
Enter your Permanent Residential Address and Bank A/c details then click on Update.
- Step 8:-
Enter the Std 12th (HSC) school information, and admission details then click on Save.
- Step 9:-
Click on Scan Document and upload the document. all documents should be properly scanned.
- Step 10:-
Double-check all the information, click on lock application then submit and print it.

Renew application for Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme
- To renew the application, go to the official website of Hon. Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme.
- On the homepage, click on “Renewal Application.”
- Before you log in, select Department, Admission After, Passing Year, stream, etc.
- Then enter Seat No and password, also the captcha shows.
- After this, fill out all the and details and upload documents, and then when you are done.
- Verify the details and click on “renew the application.”
CMSS Scholarship Application Status Check
- Visit the website https://scholarships.gujarat.gov.in.
- Click on the “student status” that you will find on the home page.
- Now, Select Application type, HSC Stream, Standard, Board, and Passing Year according to you.
- Next, enter your Seat No and Password.
- Then click on “Get student details”.
- On the next page, you can view your application’s current status.
Eligibility Criteria of CMSS Scholarship 2023-24
- The student must be a 12th-grade pass-out and also have obtained 60% marks. They should have their mark sheet from a recognized university.
- They must belong to backward classes such as OBC, ST, and SC or Shramik.
- The annual income of the family should be less than RS 4,50,000.
- Students must be a resident and a student studying in any recognized university of Gujarat.
CMSS Scholarship Amount
