The government of Assam, Director of Higher Education (DHE) announced online application for Combined Merit Scholarship for the academic year 2023-24. Students pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Science/Arts/Commerce disciplines are eligible for DHE Combined Merit Scholarship 2023. The online application portal was opened on 1st November 2023. To complete the online application process, students need to visit the official portal (https://dhe-operations.assam.gov.in) and fill the application form before 30th November 2023.
DHE Combined Merit Scholarship 2023-24
The Government of Assam has launched several initiatives to provide deserving students with access to a top-notch education, one such initiative is Combined Merit Degree and Combined Merit Master Degree Scholarship Scheme. The Assam Directorate of Higher Education (DHE) has initiated Combined Merit Scholarship for undergraduate and postgraduate students. DHE Combined Merit Scholarship 2023-24 programme is open to students residing in Assam only. At the same time, students must also maintain a minimum of 60% in higher secondary and general degree courses. The financial assistance for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate students is Rs 450 and Rs 500 respectively. The amount of scholarship will be sanctioned to the selected students through DBT mode.

Eligibility for DHE Combined Merit Scholarship
Only students from Assam are eligible for the DHE Combined Merit Scholarship 2023, along with the students must meet several eligibility criteria which are as follows:
- Combined Merit Degree Scholarships only for undergraduate students who have scored 60% in the Higher Secondary Examination.
- Combined Merit Master’s Degree Scholarships are only for undergraduate students who have achieved 60% in general degree courses.
- Students enrolled in 1st year of Degree/Master’s Degree course in Science/Arts/Commerce stream in a recognized College/University or by the State / Central Universities of Assam for the academic year 2023-24.
- The applicant must have his / her own savings bank account and must be Aadhaar-seeded.
- Students from states other than Assam are not eligible for the Scholarship.
Steps to apply online for Assam DHE Combined Merit Scholarship 2023-24
Interested and eligible applicants who meet the required eligibility criteria are only allowed to apply for the scholarship. Students will be able to apply for the Combined Merit Scholarship 2023 online only on the Assam DME Scholarship website between November 1 and 30, 2023.
Steps to follow
- Step 1
First, go to Government OF Assam DHE website (dhe-operations.assam.gov.in), then click on the Registration button.
- Step 2
Once the registration form opens, provide basic details like your Name, Mobile, Email, Date of Birth, Permanent Address (pin code, district, state), Aadhaar number, Annual income, DHE Unique ID, Course Enrolled in (UG/PG/LLB/LLM/PhD), etc.; Then set a new password and click on Submit button.
- Step 3
Provide Academic details such as Roll Number, Institute type, Name of the institute, Last qualified exam name, Percentage, Name of current course, Stream, department, Duration of course, etc. Then click on Submit button.
- Step 4
Navigate to Bank details and add details such as Bank name, A/c no, A/c holder name, Name of branch, IFSC code, PAN number, etc. Then save it.
- Step 5
Upload necessary documents such as Photo, Signature, Aadhar number, Domicile & income certificate, etc.
- Step 6
Go back to the dashboard, then click the Apply Now button under Combined Merit Scholarships for the year 2023-24.
- Step 7
Accept the terms and conditions and click on OK button.
Following successful registration, download and printout the application form and declaration form and submit them to the institution.
