The Government of Goa introduced various scholarships to the students of Goa. The main objective of providing these scholarships is to support students who are economically feeble. The students get most of the benefit by applying these scholarship schemes based on their merit and course. These scholarships are applicable for only the domiciles of Goa State. “Goa Scholarship for ST Students 2023-24” help in continuing studies. Economically backward students get opportunity to fulfill their dream of education. The honorable Chief Minister of Goa State, Dr. Pramod Sawant brought all scholarship scheme/stipend schemes of different departments set under one roof. Each and every scholarship /stipend scheme made online from application process to payment process.
Goa Scholarship for ST Students 2023-24
There are different scholarship scheme available on Goa Scholarship portal, under Department of Directorate of Tribal Welfare (for ST Students), Directorate of Social Welfare, Directorate of Education. There is different scholarship programs comes under 3 departments. These three departments are Directorate of Tribal Welfare, Directorate of Social Welfare, and Directorate of Education. Goa Scholarship by DIRECTORATE OF TRIBAL WELFARE
The department of welfare is responsible for statutory and administrative functions related to protection and empowerment of scheduled tribe. Scholarship schemes comes under this department are explained with eligibility criteria in detail.
Pre-Matric Scholarship For ST Students
The main objective of this scheme is to improve the educational status of ST and OBC students by providing financial assistance.
Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must be domicile in Goa state.
- He/She should be a regular student of an institution (Attendance required).
- Annual Income of the family must not exceed 3 Lakh per annum.
- The applicant must belong to ST category to apply for this Scheme.
- The applicant must not get any other aid from government / private organization.

Gagan Bharari Shiksha Yojana scheme
Gagan Bharari Shiksha Yojana is initiated to support ST students by giving financial assistance to continue their study. This is a Post – Matric scholarship that includes the expenses on food and travel. This scholarship helps to cover additional allowance of ST disabled students.
Eligibility Criteria
- Student must belong to ST community.
- Annual Income of the family must not exceed 5 Lakh per annum.
- ST students must be eligible for Centrally Sponsored Post Matric Scholarship during the current academic year.
- Students must be studying in recognized University/Institution.
- Scholarship not awarded for repeated students.

Merit Based Scholarship For ST Students
The main objective of awarding this scholarship is to encourage students in academic excellence. If students want this scholarship then they must perform extreme in exam and get high score. This scholarship is provided based on merit.
Eligibility Criteria
There is few eligibility criteria’s to get this scholarship. Students must meet the following criteria’s to apply scholarship.
- First Five Rank Holders of SSC, First Five Rank Holders of HSSC will be awarded.
- Annual income of the family must not exceed 5 Lakh per annum.
Scholarship Amount
considering both the Board exam (SSC & HSSC) following are details:
- First five rank holders – 20000/- rupees
- 50% – 59.99% get 5000/- rupees
- 60 %– 69.99% get 8000/- rupees
- 70% – 74.99% get 10000/- rupees
- 75% and above get 15000/- rupees

Nursing Scholarship Scheme For ST Students
The main objective of this scholarship scheme is to provide financial assistance to poor and meritorious Scheduled Tribe students of Goa. This is specifically initiated to encourage students to pursue Home Nursing courses.
Eligibility Criteria
- Students must be studying in State/Central government recognized university.
- Students of Diploma in Home Nursing, Degree in Nursing, Health worker Course, and certificate course in home nursing can apply.
- Scholarship will be given to regular student.
- Student must belong Goa State (domicile in Goa).
- The annual income of the family must not exceed 1.5 Lakh rupees per annum.
- The application form recommended by the Head of Institution will be received in the Directorate of Tribal Welfare.
- Scholarship will not be provided during internship/horsemanship/practical training . In simple words, if the student getting some amount from any other source scholarship will not be awarded.
Scholarship amount
Student gets scholarship amount based on their certificate of course, duration of course and field of course.
- Certificate course (6 months duration) – 3500/- rupees
- Diploma (3 years) course – 5000/- rupees
- Degree (3 years) – 10000/- rupees
- Health worker course (1 year) – 3500/- rupees
- Maintenance allowances for day scholar is 500/- rupees per month and for Hostellers 800/- rupees per month.
- Additional amount of rupees 1000/- given to 6 months Certificate course, rupees 2000/- to 1 year Diploma course, rupees 3000/- to 3 year degree in nursing, rupees 2000/- to 1 year health Worker course.

Steps to follow:
- Step 1:
Visit official website CM Scholarship Portal, else go to https://cmscholarship.goa.gov.in.
- Step 2:
Click on “REGISTER” button on home page.
- Step 3:
Click on “Student Registration” to fill student registration form.
- Step 4:
Fill all the required details in a registration form like, Student’s Name, Gender, Date of Birth, Aadhaar number, Address details, Mobile number, Email Id, Password etc.
- Step 5:
Once application filled click on “Register” button.
- Step 6:
Click on Login button and enter User Id, Password, Captcha and click on Login button.
- Step 7:
An application opens here.
- Step 8:
Enter all the information in an application form.
- Step 9:
Upload mandatory documents with prescribed size and format.
- Step 10:
Submit the Application.
