ICCR (INDIAN COUNCIL FOR CULTURAL RELATIONS) was established in 1950 by Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. The main objective of Indian Council for Cultural Relations is implementing policies and programs regarding India’s external cultural relations. By this program mutual understanding between India and Other countries developed. The “ICCR scholarship scheme” is one such program that offers students to study in various levels. Students are not only from India, but from other countries studying in India can also apply for this scholarship. Students from different categories/divisions/disciplines (UG, PG, Ph.D., MBBS)can apply and take the benefit of this scheme.

ICCR Scholarship 2024

The administrative body of ICCR Scholarship scheme is Indian Council for Cultural Relations. Every year around 3000+ scholarships has been offering to students. One of the best points in this scholarship scheme is students from other countries (other than India) studying in India can apply for this scheme. There are 21 schemes available under ICCR Scholarship 2024, MEA, and Ministry of Ayush and so on. Students from different levels such as Engineering, Arts, Commerce, Political Science,  Philosophy or any courses comes Under Graduate( UG), Post Graduate (PG), Doctorate can apply.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA for ICCR Scholarship 2024

To get ICCR scholarship student must meet following eligibility criteria’s. They are:

  • Student must be a citizen of one of the countries and must have a valid passport.
  • Student age must be between 18 years to 30 years.
  • Student must have finished the required level of education with qualified marks (60% and above).
  • Student should have 6.5 in EILTS or 90 in TOEFL or equivalent.
  • Student should not have any serious disease ( serious medical condition/ infectious disease).
  • Student should have good command over English communication.
  • Student should not be working anywhere.
  • Student should not be already pursuing/studying in India.
  • Student must obey the rules and regulations of ICCR, Indian Government and Institution.

ICCR Scholarship Amount

The amount covered by ICCR Scholarship is given below:

  • ICCR scholarship covers Full tuition fees of any course.
  • Every month Under Graduate students get 18000/- rupees, Post Graduate student get 20000/- rupees and Ph.D/M.Phil student get 22000/- rupees.
  • Contingent grant of rupees 5000/- per annum will be received by UG students, rupees 7000/- per annum will be received by PG students, rupees 12500/- per annum will be received by Ph.D./M.Phil students
  • It covers Medical Insurance.
  • Student get amount for Accommodation.

GUIDELINES FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS UNDER ICCR SCHOLARSHIP:

SCHEMES UNDER ICCR SCHOLARSHIP

ICCR Scholarship Schemes are as follows.

  • Atal Bihari Vajpyee General Scholarship Scheme:
    This scholarship will be awarded to undergraduate/postgraduate levels and for pursuing research to foreign students belonging to Asian and Latin American Countries.
  • Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Commonwealth Scholarship Scheme:
    This scholarship will be awarded to  undergraduate/postgraduate/doctoral and Research courses in Indian Universities to the students for Commonwealth Countries.
  • Nehru Memorial Scholarship Scheme for Sri Lankan nationals”
    The scholarship schemes are awarded to Sri Lankan nationals covering all UG courses including engineering and excluding medical courses.
  • Dr. S. Radhakrishnan Cultural Exchange Scholarship Scheme:
    This scholarship will be awarded to students pursuing undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses.
  • Lata Mangeshkar Dance & Music scholarship Scheme:
    ICCR Scholarship Scheme for Studies in Indian Culture.
  • Silver Jubilee Scholarship Scheme for Nepal:
    at present 64 scholarships are offered to Nepalese nationals under Agency Work on behalf of MEA.
  • AYUSH Scholarship Scheme:
    This is meant for BIMSTEC (Thailand, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan and Myanmar.) Countries.This scholarship will be awarded to Indian traditional medical system such as Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy. 
  • Aid to Maldives Scholarship Scheme for Maldives nationals:
    “Aid to Bhutan/Maldives/Mongolia for the benefit of the Foreign Students to the respective countries.
  • Mekong Ganga Co-operation Scholarship Scheme:
    This scholarship will be awarded to undergraduate/ postgraduate/Ph.D. courses in Indian Universities to the students for Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam.
  • Afghan Scholarship Scheme:
    This scholarship will be awarded under SSSAN (Special Scholarship Scheme for Afghan Nationals to pursue university level courses in India.
  • Africa Scholarship Scheme:
    This scholarship will be awarded to students of African Countries to avail of 900 scholarships at undergraduate/postgraduate and higher studies.
  • Aid to Mongolia Scholarship Scheme for Mongolia nationals:
    Govt. of India introduced schemes “Aid to Bhutan/Maldives/Mongolia for the benefit of the Foreign Students to the respective countries.
  • Nehru Memorial Scholarship Scheme:
    This scholarship will be awarded to Sri Lankan nationals covering all UG courses including engineering and excluding medical courses.
  • Maulana Azad Scholarship Scheme:
    This Scholarships is meant for Human Resource Development in the fields of Agriculture, Sciences and Engineering for study at Post-Graduate level.
  • Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship Scheme:
    This scholarship will be awarded to students studies in the field of Information Technology for studies at the UG level.
  • Aid to Bhutan Scholarship Scheme for Bhutan nationals:
    Govt. of India introduced schemes “Aid to Bhutan/Maldives/Mongolia for the benefit of the Foreign Students to the respective countries.
  • AYUSH Scholarship Scheme for Non BIMSTEC countries:
    This scheme meant for Non-BIMSTEC member countries, students pursue courses in Indian traditional medical system such as Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy on first-cum-first basis.
  • AYUSH Scholarship Scheme for Malaysia:
    This scheme meant for Malaysia, courses in Indian traditional medical system such as Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy.
  • AYUSH Scholarship Scheme for South East Asian Region (SEAR) Countries:
    This scholarship is meant for SEAR countries (Indonesia, Thailand, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Maldives, Thailand, DPR Koriea, Myanmar and Timor Leste.). Students pursue courses in Indian traditional medical system such as Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy.
  • Afghan National Defense & Security Forces:
    Scholarship Scheme for Children/Dependents of Afghan National Defense& Security Forces (ANDSF). This scheme is for Under-Graduation Courses to the Children/Dependents of Martyrs of Afghan National Defense& Security Forces.
  • Suborno Jayanthi AYUSH Scholarship Scheme:

How to Apply for ICCR Scholarship 2024?

To apply for ICCR scholarship student can follow below mentioned steps:

Steps

  • Step 1:

    Visit the official website https://a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in/.

  • Step 2:

    Click on “Registration” from main menu and select “Applicant registration” option.

  • Step 3:

    Click on “Please sign up here” link under “Login form”.

  • Step 4:

    Enter all the details such as personal details, academic details, course details and other details.

  • Step 5:

    Select Five (5) universities listed by ICCR as per your choice and give priority to each of them as per your preference.

  • Step 6:

    Upload all the required documents such as Mark sheet, Passport, English proficiency test scores, Bio data, personal statement etc.

  • Step 7:

    Review the application, SUBMIT it, and wait for confirmation Email from ICCR.

  • Step 8:

    If you get selected, continue with other process like, preparation of visa, transportation etc.

Student can check their application status online. Follow the instructions as per ICCR or Indian Embassy/High Commission in your country 125. To check application status student can follow below steps:

  • Step 1: Visit the official website https://a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in/ (Admission to Alumni (A2A) Portal).
  • Step 2: Login with credentials, such as Login Id, Password.
  • Step 4: If you are applicant, enter Registration Year, Apply For (Course) captcha and press SUBMIT button.
  • Step 3:Check your status on the following page.
