Labor Card Scholarship is an initiative launched by Karnataka Labor Welfare Board (KLWB) and funded by Karnataka Labor Welfare Fund. Labour Card Scholarship 2024 is open to students who are residents of Karnataka and dependents of workers (Labour). Karnataka Labour Welfare Board (KLWB) has invited online applications for Labour Card Scholarship for the academic year 2023-24. Students who want to apply for the scholarship can apply online by visiting the official website https://klwbapps.karnataka.gov.in before 31st May 2024.

LABOUR CARD SCHOLARSHIP 2023-24

Without proper funding we cannot create an effective environment for studies. Many kids fail to get minimum education without money. By observing all these, the Government of Karnataka introduced new scholarship called Labour card Scholarship. The main objective of this scholarship is to give financial support to unorganized laborers’ kids to fulfill their education dream. The Government issued card to worker working for specific industries called labour card. The qualified labour get labour card and that helps to get scholarship. The labour card Scholarship is launched by Ministry of Labor and Employment.

Eligibility Criteria For Labour Card Scholarship 2023-24

Certain eligibility criteria’s must be met by an applicant wish to get Labour card. An applicant one must possess following.

• Current government-issued work permit.
• Applicant must be resident of Karnataka.
• Must work in a specific sector such as manufacturing, agriculture, or construction etc.
• Must have a household income below a mentioned cutoff.
• Need for the scholarship must be proved.
• General category students must have secured 50% and SC / ST students must obtained 45% in their previous academic year.
• Must be a student at an accredited institution of higher learning, such as a college or university.
• Maintain good academic record and regular attendance.

Steps to Apply for Labour Card Scholarship 2023-24

To get Labour card scholarship an applicant must register them in official website. Candidate must possess below mentioned documents with them before applying. Following are the steps to be followed to apply labour card scholarship.

• Step 1: Visit official website https://klwbapps.karnataka.gov.in.
• Step 2: Click on LOGIN [STUDENT] from home page.
• Step 3: Click on “Registration”.
• Step 4: Enter details such as Email Id, mobile number, verifying method, password and click on register button.
• Step 5: Click on Login from menu bar.
• Step 6: insert your email-Id or mobile number and password to login. Enter captcha text mentioned in box and click on Login Button.
• Step 7: Click on “Apply Scholarship”.
• Step 8: Fill the application form accordingly with personal details and other mandatory information. (Example, student details, present institution details, category of an applicant, previous year marks etc.)
• Step 9: Attach file or documents as per requirement.
• Step 10: Enter industry details (like your parent working industry name, monthly salary information and other information)
• Step 11: Upload employee certificate of parent’s.
• Step 12: Click on “Apply”.
• Step 13: Keep a print copy or PDF of an application for future reference.

Note:

• Education Institution where student studying must register before students applies for scholarship.
• Industry where student’s parents work must be registered before students apply.

Labour Card Scholarship Status Check

The building and other construction worker’s belong to the unorganized category get labour card. And through this labour card the children of qualified labour get scholarship helps in continuing education. After applying for scholarship, to check its status candidate can follow below steps.

• Step 1: Visit official website https://kbocwwb.karnataka.gov.in/schemesHomePage.
• Step 2: Click on “CLICK HERE TO VIEW EDUCATION ASSISTANCE STATUS” Link.
• Step 3: Enter “Reference Number” given during applying application.
• Step 4: Click on “Check” button after entering reference number.
• Step 5: View the message if payment processed for an applicant. ” Payment has been processed for this application waiting for response”.

Note: If payment not processed but it will credit within few days then an applicant view a message like this “Payment is under Process”. If a message “Data not found” occurs on screen then an applicant must contact welfare department for further details.

SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT

Labour card scholarship amount distributed based on different class. Below are the details about scholarship amount.

• 1st standard to 4th standard students receive 1100 rupees.
• 5th standard to 8th standard students get 1250 rupees.
• 9th standard and 10th standard student get 3000 rupees.
• 11th and 12th student get 4600 rupees.
• Degree student get 6000 rupees.
• ITI student get 4600 rupees.
• Professional Training student get 11000 rupees.
